Emma Rue's opened its doors to the public on New Year's Eve in 2022. The country was still in the midst of the pandemic and life felt fragile and tenuous. We were all cautiously excited to be together. This unique and beautiful space is the trifecta of three friends and their visions melded together. Aaron brought a wealth of knowledge and passion for craft cocktails. His attention to all the fine details meant the drinks would always be remarkable and original. Bryan was the coffee connoisseur with a refined palette who brought single origin espresso and a deep, abiding connection to Coava Coffee Roasters to Spokane. Alyssa inspired the dessert program. She brought a love of French pastries and classic American treats and wanted to fill the late night gap for satisfying your sweet tooth.
Since it's inception Emma Rue's has served thousands of beverages, hosted countless intimate conversations, and become the hub for live jazz in the city. Most importantly, at the heart of what we are creating, there is a deep call to create space that is safe and welcoming for everyone to connect with themselves, with others, and to build community. When we pause and get still enough to savor life we remember what an indescribable gift it is. This is not a coffee shop or a bar. It's not a patisserie. This is a third place--beyond work or home--that offers sanctuary and respite so that you can come away from your time here refreshed, inspired, and connected.
